Hearts Support - Racist?

Hearts fans have been accused of being racist - by one of their own directors, Alex Koslovski.

Koslovski spoke out after Hearts fans turned on their own players, Nerijus Barasa and Saulius Mikoliunas, amongst others in Sunday's game against Rangers at Tynecastle.

Barasa in particular was singled out by the home support and Koslovski said: 'I'm surprised they booed Barasa and I think it is a little bit of discrimination. Barasa played very well, but because he is Lithuanian people chant at him.'

A group of supporters also gathered outside the stadium after the game to stage an anti-Romanov protest. While that at least is understandable, to boo your own players is completely out of order and you have to wonder about the mentality of some of these supporters.

The Hearts fans clearly made their feelings towards the Lithuanian players known even before the match started. When the teamsheet was read out over the tannoy before the game, the Lithuanian players names were greeted with a chorus of boos.

They continued to boo Barasa throughout the game and then dished out the same treatment to Mikoliunas when he came on as a sub.

The outburst from Koslovski is likely to cause further unrest between the fans and the people in charge at Tynecastle. With unrest between the players as well, it is all out civil war, and who knows where it could end up.

Hearts fans are also upset at the performance of referee Dougie McDonald in the powderkeg clash. They are incensed that he didn't send Nacho Novo off after he kicked out at Marius Zaliukas, but seem to forget he also missed a Hearts player kicking out at Barry Ferguson.

The anger was made worse when the player they wanted sent off - Nacho Novo, went on to score the winning goal and sink them further into dismay.

One fan summed the feeling up when he threw his scarf onto the Tynecastle pitch.
